Give Defendant Zone talk after Bill Cosby’s conviction was overturned

An early accused comedian Shame Bill Cosby spoke out after his conviction was overturned Wednesday, a shocking decision that ignited a furious storm of anger.

Helen Hayes came forward in 2014 with allegations of sexual assault, in an incident at a Pebble Beach event in 1973.

“I always thought I was alone. I will not tell anyone. Silence. They’ll think you’re crazy, ”Hayes said in an interview with KPIX,

He continued, telling the station that he “thought he was just going to die in there on bread and water.”

“It just upset me that it could happen that he can get out. He deserves it. He’s cruel.”

The decision was not taken out of any consideration of Cosby’s guilt; he and former Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor – perhaps best known in recent years as part of President Donald Trump’s defense team in his 2021 indictment trial – hit a deal not to charge him after the bombing 2005 was used for his conviction a decade later.

In this case, Andrea Constand accused Cosby of drugs and assault – the case was initially settled out of court.

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele later said Cosby’s release depends “on a procedural issue that is irrelevant to the reality of the crime.”

Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown also spoke shortly after the conviction was overturned, but in defense Cosby – a longtime friend.

In an interview with KGO, he embarrassed about 60 women who accused Bill Cosby of rape, sexual misconduct, assault and battery for not speaking out earlier.

“If they were absolutely accurate in telling the truth, why would you wait from 1969 to 2018 to tell the story?” Brown told KGO.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
